If elected, one of my first acts as your State Representative will be to draft legislation for a "Tax Free Holiday" to allow families one weekend a year to make certain purchases without paying sales tax. Surrounding states allow families to purchase clothing and certain electronic devices tax free normally in anticipation for the academic school year. Our government should be willing to allow one weekend a year where the tax burden is lifted for these critical purchases.

Our State's grocery tax has an adverse affect on seniors and families, and further steps need to be taken to eliminate the grocery tax. Alleviating the grocery tax puts money in the hands of our citizens, and I look forward to working to repeal the grocery tax from the books.
